Tony Hawk THPS2

I just remembered a game I loved! Tony Hawk Pro Skater2 for the PlayStation (PS1). I played it, and played it, and played it some more. It's funny, I'd have the volumn down real low so I wouldn't wake anyone, but the sound of the analog sticks clacking would wake up my daughter.

I don't know many skateboarders by name. I got lucky one day and caught an X games or whatever show when Tony was trying for a 900 on a vert ramp. He succeeded, and I remembered his name. Then, there's Shaun White, because of his olympic snowboarding. (Shaun is not in this game, so really Tony was the only name I recognized.)

So, I didn't know what character I wanted to use in the game. I ended up using Bucky Lasek the most. For whatever reason, I liked him better, even better than spider-man.

I might write more about this game another time. It's been a while and there are things I'd like to mention but don't want to get the details wrong.

If you're looking for a great Skateboard game on the old PS1, then THPS2 is the game!

OH! I just remembered another game I used to play, like 25 years ago, Nintendo 720° "Skate or die!" That would give a person the WORST Nintendo thumb ever!

Been a long, long time!

It kind of blows my mind to see that I posted that info about Mafia Wars 3 years ago! I didn't stick with it very long. It ended up being more work than fun, and it overcrowded my FB wall.

I Couldn't tell you how long ago, but for a while I played a game called EdgeWorld. It was kind of fun for a while, but it too became an obligation instead of an entertainment. I have decided to avoid games where you are penalized for not playing. It also sucks playing freemium games when you really don't want to spend any real world cash, but others do and it gives them an in-game advantage.

I played a LOT of Bejeweled Blitz for a long time, but it's been a while. Partly because my soundcard died and I just haven't taken the time to fix it and partly because there was something that started to pop up that struck me as a privacy issue. (Don't remember what it was now.) Sound is not actualy required to play the game, but it seems dead without it.

I posted before that I expected to write about ID Games' Quake series, but I don't see that happening at the moment. I really don't give myself time to get into FPS games these days.

We bought a Wii!
It came with Wii Sports and we (my family and I) really enjoy Wii Bowling. Surprisingly, I love Wii Golf as well. It kind of sucks that it only has 9 holes, so maybe I'll buy a dedicated Golf Game one day. My daughter has Epic Mickey and has a great time with it.

We subscribed to Netflix and stream a LOT of old TV shows through it. We're watching each Star Trek series in order, except that my daughter didn't want to start at TOS, so we started with TNG. We're on DS9 Season one now. My wife got into Charmed and Buffy, and I enjoy watching those with her.

Maybe there's another blog in that for me: Old TV Shows that I love...

Facebook Mafia Wars

The only reason I even joined Facebook was to play 2 games, Bejeweled Blitz and Chain RXN. I have since found myself entangled in a game called Mafia Wars where I have climbed to level 25 in about a week.

I'll probably post back later to give a more in-depth opinion of the game but I'll say this, It will rob you of time like a street thug robs you of money.

Just a start

I'll probably write about some Q2 and Q3 (Quake by Id games) here, but most recently I have been stuck on the old MS Minesweeper. I got 9 seconds on Beginner and 150 seconds on Expert.

I have also found myself at times addicted to Nintendo Tetris, and Yahoo!'s Collapse.

I used to start tetris on level 0-0 and play until level 20. I actually reached level 21 once, but didn't even try to play it. When I beat level 20 I literally threw my controller and said some exclaimation. (Sorry, been a while. Can't remember exactly what I said.) If I had time, I would like to get a Nintendo set back up and play some more Tetris.
